Panic On Streets Of London (Penny Red)

“Violence is rarely mindless. The politics of a burning building, a smashed-in shop or a young man shot by police may be obscured even to those who lit the rags or fired the gun, but the politics are there. Unquestionably there is far, far more to these riots than the death of Mark Duggan, whose shooting sparked off the unrest on Saturday, when two police cars were set alight after a five-hour vigil at Tottenham police station. A peaceful protest over the death of a man at police hands, in a community where locals have been given every reason to mistrust the forces of law and order, is one sort of political statement. Raiding shops for technology and trainers that cost ten times as much as the benefits you’re no longer entitled to is another. A co-ordinated, viral wave of civil unrest across the poorest boroughs of Britain, with young people coming from across the capital and the country to battle the police, is another. “

Try-out Bushcraft Course will be in Armadale, from 22-24 August

Plans for the first try-out Larger Picture Bushcraft Course have been updated. I have decided that it will all take place in Rhuba Phoil in Armadale on the Isle of Skye (Scotland), this with gracious and very kind permission from the owner, Sandra Masson. This is a dream location for a course like this! Learn more about it here: http://skye-permaculture.org.uk/.

The dates have also been decided on: the first of the three days of the course will start on Monday the 22nd of August. However, it would be handy if people would arrive in Armadale the night before. This would mainly be to get to know each other a little bit already before the course gets going, but also to set up camp, and be ready for a good early-ish start!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have, or to sign up of course!

First Try-Out Bushcraft Course in the Scottish Highlands Planned for August!

In the second half of August, the first ever Larger Picture Bushcraft Course will take place (find more information on it by clicking on “Bushcraft Courses” in the header). It will be a three-day course. Please consider coming if you can!

New Blog

This is a blog under construction. Browse around, and on the few pages already up, you’ll already find a tiny bit of information (some of which will still change) which might give you just a vague idea of what this is going to be about. In short: about True Natural Learning (putting the pieces together to work towards an understanding of The Larger Picture, rather than taking The Larger Picture apart and learning only about a few random pieces of it while thrashing the rest), and, in somewhat short term practical terms, about bushcraft workshops in the Scottish Highlands. These two things go together wonderfully well.

At this moment I can already tell you that a try-out bushcraft workshop will be organised in the second half of August, either on or near the Isle of Skye, or in Achmelvich (well North of Ullapool). More information about that will become available soon!

Please check back regularly!

Thanks,
Arthur Sevestre
